Tight Spaces, Tough Jobs - No Match for NEW SC852

20 Mar 2008
Vermeer

Productivity is boosted by unit design and maneuverability

Stump cutters tend to be known for their power but not so much for their agility. The Vermeer SC852 offers removable dual rear tires offer a wide wheel base that provides stability and a differential lock on the 4WD system that can be disengaged for tight turning. Front-mounted controls offer maneuverability in confined spaces by allowing the operator to walk in-line with the machine. The SC852 moves easily through your jobsite with a top speed of 150 fpm (45.7 m/min), then uses the creep control to ease into the right position for cutting.

The unit boasts a full 9 inches (23 cm) of ground clearance, so uneven terrain doesn’t have to slow you down. It also allows plenty of room for chip containment, while the curved 34-inch (86-cm) wide frontmounted chip blade moves chips around the jobsite easily, reducing the need for manual chip moving.

The SC852 gives you a maximum cutting height of 31 inches (79 cm) above ground and 25 inches (64 cm) below, offering the deepest cut in its class. The cutter wheel boom linkage design allows the cutter wheel to move away from the machine as the boom drops down toward the stump, reducing the need to reposition the entire unit.

A direct drive hydrostatic pump and gearbox eliminates clutch and belt-drive maintenance and reduces cutter wheel stopping time and daily service points. Other maintenance areas can be reached easily through hinged doors and removable panels. The SC852 — soon to be the favorite of everyone who knows a thing or two about wood. For more information on the SC852, contact your Vermeer dealer.

® SC852 rubber tire stump cutter has been designed to offer both. This sleek model can fit through a 36-inch (91-cm) gate, but still provides 85 hp (63 kW) of power via a Cummins Tier 3 turbocharged diesel engine to make short work of any stump.
