Features patent-pending feed rollers, belt-tensioned clutchless design, and largest feed table in its class
The new Vermeer® BC2100XL brush chipper delivers power with three engine options to tackle tough land clearing jobs. Two horizontal feed rollers and a belt-tensioned clutchless cutter drum turn that power into exceptional productivity.
Three Tier 3 Cummins diesel engine options — 215 hp (160 kW), 250 hp (186 kW), or 275 hp (205 kW) — are available and allow contractors the ability to choose a power level appropriate to their specific jobsite needs. The BC2100
Vermeer offset the lower horizontal feed roller from the upper horizontal feed roller by 11 inches (28 cm) toward the end of the feed table. This allows material to be pulled to the upper feed roller, which makes for easier feeding and lessens the need for the operator to manually control the upper feed roller for large diameter material. The feed rollers boast a calculated combined pulling force of 10,000 pounds (4536 kg). This gives operators a greater ability to pull in whole trees without trimming limbs and branches attached to the main trunk of the tree. It also helps reduce the need to reposition the material while it’s being fed.
Once the upper feed roller raises for four seconds during the feeding process, the SmartCrush system will automatically increase the down pressure on the material being fed. This allows the upper feed roller to easily climb onto large material before the increased down pressure is applied for maximum pulling force.
A belt-tensioned, clutchless design eliminates the need for an over-center clutch that requires adjustment, rebuilding or replacing. This feature helps to decrease the cost of operation associated with clutch failures. Heavy-duty tandem torsion axles provide reliable off-road jobsite performance as well as decreased ground pressure for softer conditions compared to single axle designs.
Optional manual or hydraulic outriggers support the back of the chipper and prevent the unit from bouncing while chipping or while loading large diameter material onto the feed table. An optional remote control allows an operator to control the chipper while utilizing a separate machine to load the chipper.

The large 72-inch-wide (183 cm) table easily funnels material to the drum opening to allow smooth material feeding.
