The RTX550 joins the growing family of Vermeer quad track utility installation machines.  Powered by a 65HP Cummins diesel engine, the RTX550 offers efficient power in high load applications, yet its compact footprint is ideal for confined space application.

Vermeer designed the RTX550 to include the innovative rubber quad track system and is the only tractor on the market to offer this feature in its horsepower class.  The rubber quad track system offers improved flotation, reduced surface damage, increased tractive effort and greater stability.  The specialised under carriage system offers versatility by fitting either rubber tires or tracks, depending on ground conditions and application needs.

The RTX550 also offers industry exclusive TrenchSenseTM system, which helps eliminate engine stalls and stops when difficult digging conditions are encountered.  Should difficult conditions cause a sudden drop in engine RPM or the trencher chain to stop, the tractor automatically pauses forward creep and slightly backs up.  The trencher chain also slightly reverses to dislodge any material.  Once the engine recovers the previously set engine RPM, forward trencher chain motion and forward creep automatically resumes, helping to enhance productivity by eliminating the need to return to the controls to restart.

An integrated system display will allow the operator to easily monitor important engine functions by toggling through machine diagnostics including engine RPM, fuel, battery voltage, water temperature and engine hours.

The RTX550 trencher is also equipped with standard front and rear hydraulic valve banks to accomodate easy attachment change out.  Attachments for the RTX550 include a vibratory plow, trencher, combo / plow, trencher and backhoe.
