The HASS Knee Ascender offers distinctive design and application that is simple yet flexible.

The HAAS, designed by Michael Frankhauser of Ohio, gives the climber the ability to use two ascenders which provides quick and efficient ascents in a doubled rope system, and even faster ascents when utilized in a SRT system (Using the HAAS does require a foot ascender to be worn on the opposite boot).

The system combines a foot ascender opposite and below a secure life-support-rated attachment to the climbing line, and upward progress is captured smoothly and efficiently as both feet “cycle” up and down. The low ascender mount helps keep the climber upright with his/her spine parallel to the climbing line. This maximizes upward mobility while allowing the large muscles of the legs to do the majority of the work.

Very quick and easy to install, and once in the tree, can be clipped on to your saddle or stowed in a bag. Incorporating the HAAS into your climbing system allows the climber to walk/stair step up the line very rapidly with minimum gear, making it a great addition to any climbing system.
